What I'm Wearing............Right Now!

Everyone  usually wears something each day, that is meaningful to them in some way. I just kind of leave them on and don't give them much thought. And I don't even know what triggered me to think of it today-
So what do you wear everyday that is meaningful to you?

  1. Of course I wear my wedding ring and never take it off other than for an occasional cleaning.
  2. I also wear a very small fleur de lis, that I got in New Orleans, shortly after Katrina
  3. I wear a round disc that I made that says,"Tell me what it is you plan to do with your one wild and precious life." A saying by Mary Oliver.
  4. And I wear a cross I got in Korea. It was actually a key chain for about $1.99 with a gaudy tassel hanging on it. I bought a few that I have given to special friends. This one I started wearing when we were adopting Hana and waiting for her to arrive. To me is it worth a hundred times the $1.99.
  5. My bracelet AB created and has charms with my grandkids name, birthdate, and birthstone...love,love.love! I plan on having a very heavy wrist someday!

So what do you wear?

Easter Ideas for BIG Kids

There is a glimmer of spring coming with a little bit warmer temps-
Which inspires me to start thinking about Easter.
I have a few suggestions for you for a big kid Easter Egg Hunt. I mean for teenagers- young adults.
What a fun thing to see your older kids and daughter-in-laws running around the yard looking for hidden eggs.
So here are a few suggestions:
These fun goodies are from: http://www.mcphee.com/shop/
Wasabi gum balls, pickle gum balls, roast beef gum balls, foi gras gum balls etc. There are hundreds of cool things-

I couldn't resist this cat-

even though he has nothing to do with Easter-
Romeo loves him!

A few other ideas are: false eyelashes, lottery tickets, scratch offs, $$, or of course candy
So check out Archee McPhee, I've been to the actual store in Fremont WA. It's CRAZY!!!!!!!

Mother-in-law Girl Fun!!!!

Long ago I got an idea from my friend Mary, who has 11 kids in her family. Lots of sisters, lots of sister-in-laws. They always seemed to have something going on. I remember her telling me, no one ever wanted to leave the party first because then everyone else could talk about them. They are Irish and Italian- and I always wanted to have some of that excitement and closeness.
One very cool thing that Mary's mom started, each year around Mother's Day, all the sisters and sister-in-laws would go out for a special lunch- and NO ONE would miss. They would also have a girls weekend at the cabin. I kept that idea tucked away for when I would have a bigger family. When I finally had 2 daughter-in-laws and 2 daughters we started a Girl's Night out, around Christmas. We would go eat at the mall, or go have our nails done... great fun. We have missed doing this due to babies and other conflicts. So this year we really need to do this again, and I think a better time will be around Mother's Day  when things are not quite so hectic. They are great moms and also I love having the interaction with my younger girls who adore the time we all spend together. So get ready girls.. we have to set a date!

Developing a Complex?

Just 8 months ago I took a picture of my little beauty and noticed a shocking resemblence to Nick Nolte.

Piper has seen the side-by-side pic and gets a real kick out of it.

Last night watching Celebrity Apprentice, whenever she'd see Gary Busey, she'd get all excited and say, "That's me, Piper"!

Maybe I'll have to do side-by-side pics of Piper and Michelle from Full House.
